St. Benedict Medal

The St. Benedict Medal is a Christian sacramental medal containing symbols and text related to the life of Saint Benedict of Nursia, the founder of the Benedictine monastic order. The front of the medal usually depicts St. Benedict holding a cross in his right hand, the object of his devotion, and his Rule for Monasteries in the other. Around the edge of the medal, the words “Eius in obitu nostro praesentia muniamur” (May we be strengthened by his presence in the hour of our death) are typically inscribed. The reverse side of the medal bears a cross, with the initial letters of a Latin exorcism prayer around the margins. This medal is often worn or carried by the faithful as a means of seeking spiritual blessing and as a defense against evil. It's highly regarded for its association with protection and as a reminder of the power of faith and prayer.
